Basic Requirement for Physicist:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in physics, or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics. The courses must have included a fundamental course in general physics and, in addition, courses in any two of the following: electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, modern physics, and sound.

B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The courses must have included a fundamental course in general physics and, in addition, courses in any two of the following: electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, modern physics, and sound.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02/GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes professional experience as an expert adviser and task leader in planning, organizing and directing extensive development efforts of Directed Energy Weapon Systems; broad and complex programs requires expert skills in such areas include, high speed signal processing, electro-optics, lasers, photonics and optical systems, data acquisition, data reduction, and artificial intelligence.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
