Serves as Information Security Program Manager/Security Manager responsible for projects and assignments in information security, including, but not limited to, the classification and identification of information requiring protection, designating the levels of protection required and classification and control of all sensitive information stemming from audits, evaluations or investigations.
Performs the initial investigation of security incident reports and prepares reports to Director, Office of Security. Reviews alleged security infractions and violations to determine whether further investigation is warranted. Provides guidance as needed and ensures that further inquiries/investigations are made and that appropriate corrective action is taken. Conducts entry and final briefings to OIG personnel; follows up on reported deficiencies to insure corrective action is taken.
Performs security classification and Operations Security reviews of OIG reports and projects. Provides assistance and direction in support of ongoing OIG projects and investigations involving sensitive or classified information in accordance the DoD Information Security Program: prepares reports and recommends corrective action.
Develops and applies traditional approaches for conducting security awareness, education and training programs involving collateral security procedures. Provides authoritative information and advice regarding interpretations of security regulations.
Develops and implements information security training requirements for OIG. Reviews effectiveness of OIG Information Security Program. Reviews security information and policies, determines relevance to OIG and distributes information to OIG personnel.

Position has been designated as Special Sensitive. Incumbent is required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information security clearance.
Incumbent is required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal drug use prior to appointment and is subject to random drug testing for the duration of service with DoD OIG.
Current DoD civilian employees are not required to submit to drug testing if moving from one Testing Designated Position (TDP) to another with no break in service, unless deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
If you have not previously completed a probationary period with the federal government in a similar position, you will be required to serve a two-year probationary period.
