As a Supervisory Personnel Security Specialist, GS-14 you will perform the following duties:
Provides daily oversight of the Personnel Security Program to ensure established personnel security requirements are met. Provides oversight and guidance for staff.
Analyzes and researches a wide variety of topics and conditions related to the Personnel Security Program; and provides management with reports, recommendations, or required actions.
Reviews questionable or complex issues to determine employment in national security positions, or if access to national security information should be granted.
Reviews and adjudicates background investigations which may include complex citizenship and/or possible counterintelligence issues.

Specialized Experience for the GS-14
One year of experience equivalent to the GS-13 performing at least two (2) of the following three (3) duties or work assignments:
1. Experience in managing or leading security staff that makes security clearance determinations for employees or other persons for access to sensitive information, resources, material, or work sites.
2. Experience in personnel security and suitability principles, techniques and procedures to develop security and suitability policy and provide guidance regarding their implementation.
3. Experience in determining program risks, monitoring key risk factors and implementing and tracking program improvements to mitigate risk factors.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
The quality of your experience will be measured by the extent to which you possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs). 1. Mastery of a wide range of personnel security concepts, principles and practices to review, analyze and resolve complex security issues.

4. Skill in interpreting policies and making recommendations related to reviewing and adjudicating background investigations.
