The General Medicine Staff Physician is administratively and clinically responsible to the Department Head, Special Medical Examinations (SME). The SME Department consists of four Staff Physicians, two part time Physicians and two Clinical Psychologists.

The practice is primarily focused on disability assessment and evaluation of uncomplicated gynecologic, internal medicine, dermatologic, orthopedic, otolaryngologic, urologic, ophthalmologic, behavioral problems/substance abuse and environmental or occupationally related problems. Workload per general medicine provider consists of 10-35 clinic encounters per week.
The candidate works cohesively and comprehensively within the framework of Disability Medical Assessment administrative and clinical requirements. The candidate uses assessment skills to promptly review military and civilian medical records, complete laboratory tests for differential diagnoses and prepare sound evidence based reports in response to claimed condition(s). The candidate accurately interprets and evaluates clinical data for determining diagnosis and relationship to in service events. Candidate also performs Environmental Health examinations. The candidate selects, develops, and conducts literature search on researchable problems that are relevant to the health care of Veterans and Active Duty service members.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
