Your qualifications will be evaluated on the following competencies (knowledge, skills, abilities and other characteristics):
--Knowledge of occupational health regulations and industrial hygiene standards, concepts, procedures, policies, and practices to perform independent inspections necessary to control or eliminate hazardous environmental conditions and potential health hazards in industrial hygiene settings.
--Knowledge to determine which conventional alternative methods, approaches or techniques to apply to resolve an identified problem.
--Knowledge in the use of equipment for audiometric and pulmonary function testing, vision screening and the ability to explain the purpose and results to employees, recording and interpreting results, and determining need for referral.
--Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relating to the presence of common occupational health illness and injuries. Knowledge and skill in instructing employees in the proper use and care of personal protective equipment to include hearing protection, eye protection, and respiratory protection.
--Knowledge of medical terminology and skilled in recording specific information in the client's medical record.
--Knowledge of the anatomy of the ear and skilled in the proper techniques for fitting a variety of hearing protection devices.
