As an IT Specialist (SYSADMIN/CUSTSPT) (Title 32), GS-2210-11, you will perform the below duties:
The purpose of this position is to provide administrator-level information technology system support to the assigned unit, 192 Intelligence Squadron, located on Joint Base Langley-Eustis and co-located with several other units in support of the federal Distributed Common Ground System mission. In addition, the unit supports the state of Virginia's domestic Incident Awareness and Assessment mission. The incumbent may be called upon to support additional federal or state missions as they arise. Systems administrators within this unit are responsible for planning, coordinating, modifying, implementing, and troubleshooting all system types. The following list of duties is not conclusive but provides a brief snapshot of what may be required of this position (a copy of the complete position description may be obtained from the Human Resources Contact using PD D1650P01): primary technical expert supporting the unit completing tasks including customer service/issue resolution, new member in-processing and account creation, folder structure and permission group management, device setup and troubleshooting, preparation for weekend duties (regularly schedule drill) and annual training events, construction and management of periodic training related to a variety of 3DXXX AFSCs, probably integration with active duty/federal components, and additional duties as assigned, to include, but not limited to, property custodian of IT and other equipment, facility management, unit training management, SharePoint administration and content management).
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Open to current, or eligible, enlisted members of the Virginia Air National Guard (commissioned officers/retirees not eligible)
- Must hold 3DXXX AFSC (RF Transmission Systems) or possess training or experience equivalent to the AFSC requirement enough to support a technical school training waiver or be willing to enlist/cross-train into the 3DXXX career field and attend technical training at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS.

GROUP I - All qualified Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E-4/SrA - E-7/MSgt), currently employed (permanent) in the Virginia Army National Guard Military Technician Program.
GROUP II - All qualified Virginia Army National Guard Male/Female Enlisted Personnel (E-4/SrA - E-7/MSgt), regardless of employment status (Traditional, Military Technician or AGR). GROUP III - Individuals eligible for membership in the Virginia Army National Guard.

Compatible Military Assignments: Must hold 3DXXX AFSC or possess training or experience equivalent to the AFSC requirement enough to support a technical school training waiver or be willing to enlist/cross-train into the 3DXXX career field and attend technical training at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, MS.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Primary specialization in customer support field and troubleshooting information technology equipment to successful resolutions. Experiences with a variety of operating systems on desktops and servers. Knowledge of project management techniques and tools sufficient to provide guidance on the implementation of emerging technologies. Experience with proven skills in troubleshooting problems and implementing changes on multifaceted and interdependent computer platforms. Understanding of SharePoint concepts and ability to convert end-user requests into fundamentally functional sites. Experience with ticketing systems (i.e., Remedy 2.0 and CIPS). Natural ability to complete routine/periodic tasks (e.g., regularly checking and reviewing email and trackers, paying monthly bills, conducting security checks) without verbal prompts. Experience communicating concepts and issues verbally and in writing, both professionally and completely.
To qualify for the National Guard Dual Status 2210, GS-11, the incumbent must have at least 12 months experience, education, or training using a number of alternative approaches, techniques and requirements appropriate to an assigned computer applications area or computer specialty area in an organization. Incumbent will be required to maintain information assurance certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M and comply with current AF directives. Travel to and from local worksite(s) from the normal work area (office) to perform assigned duties may be necessary. This is an excepted position that requires membership with a compatible assignment in the Virginia Air National Guard. Incumbent will be required to wear a military uniform IAW 32 USC 709 - Technicians: Employment, Use, Status. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Accessioning to or past highest advertised grade will not occur until approved Manpower Change Request (MCR) is reflected on Unit Manning Document (UMD).
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must have at least 36 months experience of specialized experience, equivalent to at least the GS-09 level, or equivalent pay band in other pay systems in the Federal government. This experience may also have been obtained in the private sector, but must demonstrate that it is comparable to the GS grade indicated. This experience must include activities such as:
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
At the GS-11 and higher levels, a Ph.D. or equivalent, or 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree.
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
