As a Social Work Site Supervisor for the HUD/VASH Program the incumbent has significant personnel management responsibilities for a team of professional social work staff members and support staff assigned to the NCHCS HUD/VASH Program. Additional supervisees may include other NCHCS Homeless Program team members. Supervised teams may be comprised of both VA and contract employees. In conjunction with, and under the guidance of the NCHCS HUD/VASH Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the professional and administrative management of the social work services provided by the HUD/VASH program by the designated staff, while also providing direct clinical services to a limited caseload.
The HUD/VASH Site Supervisor is licensed at the advanced practice level and is able to provide supervision for subordinate staff to qualify for licensure. As the supervisor, the incumbent assists in planning, establishing, and implementing policies and procedures; developing individual or group goals and objectives as well as monitoring, operating, evaluating, coordinating and overseeing the social work staff of the assigned program. The incumbent assures the social workers supervised are aware of and adhere to all current directives of VHA, and meet current Joint Commission standards, state licensure standards, and VA-OIG expectations, as well as CARF accreditation standards. In conjunction with the CHC Supervisor, the incumbent will conduct ongoing intensive reviews and appraisals to ensure the accomplishment of objectives and adherence to standards set by governing bodies.
