This position is located in Temple, Texas. The Physician will be expected to provide GI consultation, and follow up care, in general GI as well as Hepatology, in an inpatient and outpatient setting. He/she will also be expected to perform GI procedures in the day procedure unit. Physician will be required to take call on nights and weekends for in-patients. Administrative, teaching and committee assignments may be expected as assigned by the Section Chief of Gastroenterology and/or Chief of Medicine Service. We have an active teaching program with GI fellows rotating through various clinical areas and teaching will be part of the duties.
IF PATIENT NEEDS ARISE, THE INCUMBENT OF THE ABOVE POSITION MAY BE REASSIGNED WITHIN THE CENTRAL TEXAS VETERANS HEALTH CARE SYSTEM.

Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Authorized
This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), an education loan reimbursement program within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA). If selected for this position, you must meet specific individual eligibility criteria in accordance with VHA Handbook 1021.01 and submit required documentation to complete an EDRP application package within four (4) months of appointment. Final award amount and program start date is determined after review of a complete EDRP application and supporting documentation by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office.
