A Palliative Care consultant is a physician who is responsible for improving the palliative medical care delivered by the Palliative Care Consultation Team (PCCT) at the Memphis VA Medical Center with outpatient experience and Hospice & Palliative Medicine (HPM) experience. This is to include experience and training in symptom palliation, goals of care discussions and end of life care for patients with advanced stages of illness. Flexibility and a compassionate bedside manner are essential.

Duties:
Preferred Experience: American Board certification in Hospice & Palliative Medicine. If not currently board certified, the expectation is to become board certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine within two years of employment.
