The medical instrument technician's work is to perform and evaluate the overnight polysomnogram and work is directed by the Lead Technician of the Sleep Laboratory. This individual functions independently to safely operate sophisticated medical equipment used to monitor and record important parameters in sleep/wake physiology such as breathing (airflow/effort), electroencephalograms (brain waves), electrocardiograms (heart rate and rhythm), electromyograms (muscle activity), pulse oximetry (blood oxygenation/saturation) and both transcutaneous and end tidal carbon dioxide monitoring, as well as esophageal pressure monitoring as required.
Some of the duties include but not limited to:

c. Polysomnographic procedures:
d. Polysomnographic Record Scoring
e. Scheduling
Work Schedule: Intermittent, this position will require the employee to be available to work no less than two overnight shifts per month plus availability for at least four days per month, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.
