About the Position: This position is with the United States Army Installation Management Command located at the United States Army Garrison Fort Hunter Liggett (Parks RFTA), Directorate of Emergency Services, Camp Parks, CA. Employees may be recalled to duty based on crisis situations.
Camp Parks is located in a suburban area 40 miles southeast of San Francisco, 20 miles southeast of Oakland, and 30 miles northeast of San Jose at the junction of Interstate Highways 580 and 680.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes using the knowledge of a body of basic laws and regulations, law enforcement operations, practices, and techniques and involved responsibility for maintaining order and protecting life and property. Creditable specialized experience may have been gained in work on a police force; through service as a military police officer, in work providing visitor protection and law enforcement in parks, forests, or other natural resource or recreational environments; in performing criminal investigative duties; or in other work that provided the required knowledge and skills. Duties may include arresting and Mirandizing suspects, preserving evidence, conducting investigations of crimes and suspected criminal activities, writing accident reports, conducting vehicle and foot patrols, responding to calls for police assistance and emergency help, conducting field drug and alcohol testing of suspected offenders, operating radar speed detection devices, enforcing hunting, trapping and fishing regulations, directing individuals away from accidents, escorting vehicles carrying valuable and/or highly sensitive items, directing traffic, controlling access to restricted areas by verifying credentials and conducting vehicle searches. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -- no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
