As a WL-5803-10, you will perform duties such as; Leads three or more employees with responsibility for performing depot level overhaul and rebuild of the AGT 1500 Turbine Engine, as follows; Passes on to workers instructions received from the supervisor and gets work started by assigning immediate tasks to individual members of the team. Works along with team members and sets the pace, Demonstrates proper work methods. Ensures that needed plans, blueprints, materials, supplies and/or tools are available. Obtains needed information or decisions from the supervisor on problems that come up during the work. Maintains a current knowledge of the work and answers questions regarding procedures, written instructions, or other directives. Serves as a lead technician in one of the component rebuild activities within the facility. In this capacity, performs the repair, modification, calibration, testing and reassembly of individual parts and subassemblies, Instructs lower-graded employees in all phases of the turbine engine overhaul/rebuild function. Performs journey-level work, as follows: Performs, and/or directs, the disassembly and preliminary inspection of the AGT 1500 Turbine Engine and its major components. Ensures that all of major components that form the end item are present and complete without regard to the operational status of each component. Modifies, substitutes or altars parts and procedures to allow use of items that may not be specifically designed for the component being overhauled. Reassembles the entire turbine engine, completed components, and subassemblies contained in the end item. Assures that required testing and quality control checks are performed. In addition, ensures that reassembly meets quality requirements for return to the user and that the completed assembly is properly prepared for shipment to the user. Perform other duties assigned.
