This position is located in the Natural Resources Division, Pacific West Region of the National Park Service. As an Environmental Protection Specialist with expertise in energy development impacts, the incumbent will serve as the Regional Energy Specialist to the Mohave network of NPS units, working closely with parks, park networks, National Historic Trails, regional and Washington offices, and other relevant agencies and organizations.
Major Duties:
There is no substitution of education for experience at the grade level(s) of this announcement.
Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, but will require occasional travel to project sites and moderate physical exertion when participating in field reviews. Such reviews may require hiking over rough terrain and entry on to surface installations.
Working Conditions: The work is primarily performed in an office setting with occasional visits to other offices within the region and to remote field locations. Risks and hazards are associated with entry on to surface installations under varied climatic conditions. Field trips may result in exposure to potentially hazardous conditions. As a result, hard-toed shoes, safety glasses and hard hats may be required. The incumbent is expected to perform all duties in a safe manner consistent with applicable Departmental and NPS safety standards.
The National Park Service has determined that the duties of this position are suitable for telework and the selectee may be allowed to telework with supervisor approval.
