As an Accountant, you will perform the following duties:
Responsibility for understanding major aspects of accounting and financial operations (Payment, receivables, property, travel, payroll, etc.) and preparation of agency financial reporting to Treasury, IRS, and OMB;
Solving problems in financial data and reporting by applying accounting principles, theories, concepts, and practices in new or novel ways to solve these problems where no clear precedents exist;
Develop and execute a variety of reconciliations and verifications to verify the accuracy of the financial data and information;
Conduct a systematic examination of financial records, transactions, reports, and system inputs and outputs in order to validate standard general ledger controls, financial reporting, and the general ledger accounts or balances;
Assist with the strategic planning for reporting, operational analysis and alternatives analysis, project planning, general ledger account monitoring, and financial reporting;
Knowledgeable on accounting, auditing and financial reporting topics and drafts written reports and recommendations for improvement, and presents them to team lead, management and peers.
This position has an education requirement. You MUST submit at least one of the following at the time of application:
-Copy of your unofficial transcripts or equivalent; or
-Certificate as Certified Public Accountant (CPA); or
-Certified Internal Auditor (CIA)
