The Nursing Assistant (NA) will be assigned to the Emergency Department working with patients under the direct supervision of a team of nurses for each shift and communicates with nurses about the patient-driven daily care plan. After orientation, the Nursing Assistant will be able to complete all tasks of a Nursing Assistant in a skillful manner, developing increased knowledge, as well as the understanding of therapeutic aspects of the Nursing Assistant-patient relationship.

Reports changes in patient's condition to the registered nurse, as well as the patient's acceptance and response to nursing care.
Observes the general appearance and condition of skin and report's findings to the registered nurse.
Demonstrates skills, knowledge an ability to use and reprocess reusable medical equipment appropriate to assigned duties.
Takes vital signs and weights as directed.
Assists patients with meals.
Assists with transfers, ambulation and all activities of daily living.
Transport patients to test and procedures as directed.
Follows facility policies to ensure patient safety while working to help the patient re-establish independence with their cares as able.
Gives individual care and attention to acutely and chronically ill patients.
The cleaning and management of equipment.
THIS IS TEMPORARY POSITION NOT TO EXCEED 13 MONTHS.
