The Non-Appropriated Fund (NAF) workforce at Fort Polk is 400+ employees strong and provides service to military and civilian patrons. NAF employees work at different Family Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (FMWR) activities to include Warrior Hills Golf Course, Warrior Community Activity Center, Marketing, Outdoor Recreation, Recreational Shooting Range, various Gyms/Physical Fitness Centers, Strike Zone Bowling Center, Mulligan's, Arts & Crafts, Auto Crafts, Toledo Bend Recreation Site, Alligator Lake Recreation Site, Allen Memorial Library, Child Youth and School Services (CYSS), and administrative offices which support these activities.
The area is considered rural with the Kisatchie National Forest, which offers hunting and recreational activities located nearby. Also located nearby is North and South Toledo State Parks, Toledo Bend Lake, Vernon Lake and Anacoco Lake for those interested in fishing, boating, etc.
