The typical teaching load at USAFA is 3/3. At a minimum, the selectee can expect to teach one or more semester sections of the department's core (required) course, Airpower and Joint Operations Strategy. The course places particular emphasis on air, space, and cyberspace strategy and operations in the joint context. The successful applicant may also teach upper-level elective Military & Strategic Studies (MSS) courses as part of the MSS major. The Department's research areas of interest include national security, military strategy, and joint military operations across the spectrum of conflict.
