This position includes teaching in the Department of Aeronautics and management of the High Performance Computing Center (HPCRC). As such, the incumbent will teach undergraduate courses and provide expertise and resources to support computational aerodynamics courses. The HPCRC director must also demonstrate leadership with vision, technical expertise in high performance computing, and the ability to work side by side with senior level executives and industry leaders. The director will continuously interface with government organizations and industry leaders in order to identify and exploit research and development opportunities and to maintain the HPCRC as a robust, nimble and cost-effective research organization. The director must have experience and education commensurate with managing projects of intense congressional and executive branch interest. The director will also be responsible for expanding and consolidating computational research efforts within multiple academic departments and research centers.
EDUCATION:

The United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) Dean of Faculty, Aeronautics Department, anticipates filling the TERM (full-time) position of Assistant Professor of Aeronautics and Director of High Performance Computing Research Center, beginning on 24 June 2019 and terminating on 30 June 2021. This is a Title 10 Excepted Service Appointment. Appointment is not to exceed 3 years. Extensions and/or Subsequent re-appointments may be considered based upon an assessment of performance, Air Force and departmental needs, and funding availability.
