Interns will:
Must be currently enrolled in a full- or part-time accredited advanced degree program (e.g. Master's, Juris Doctor, Ph.D.) in good academic standing, concentrating in: International Relations/Affairs/Development/Business/Finance/Trade, Global Policy, Human Rights, Anthropology, Social Impact, Corporate Social Responsibility, International/Labor/Employment Law, Public Policy, Diplomacy, International Project Finance, Political Science, Sociology, or other related field.
You will be evaluated for this job based on how well you meet the qualifications above.

You will be part of a dedicated team helping to mobilize private capital to help solve critical development challenges and advance U.S. foreign policy.
The Office of Investment Policy (OIP) analyzes proposed investment projects to ensure their eligibility for OPIC assistance with regard to the agency's policies on worker rights and environmental standards, employment and development and market effects; performs risk analyses and portfolio analyses; and monitors existing projects to assure continued adherence to contractual provisions and statutory requirements.
The OIP's Social Assessment/Labor and Human Rights Team analyzes proposed investment projects to ensure their eligibility for OPIC assistance with regard to the agency's policies on social standards, including worker and human rights standards, and monitors existing projects to ensure continued adherence to contractual provisions and statutory requirements with regard to their social performance. Interns will play an exciting role at the forefront of international project finance conducting social, labor, and human rights-related reviews at the country, sector, and project levels for proposed projects seeking OPIC insurance, investment funds, or financing.
