Executes purchase orders and delivery orders in accordance with the incumbent’s warranted procurement authority or prepares procurement actions in support of higher warranted purchasing agent/contracting officer. Maintains various procurement/purchasing files and resolves any discrepancies before closing out purchase order/delivery order files. Monitors participation in system wide contracts and joint contracts with sister services.
Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy. Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Adheres to safety regulations and standards. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.
Performs other related duties as assigned. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
EVALUATIONS:
Three years of experience in contracting or purchasing experience with progressive assignments leading to broader technical knowledge. A high school diploma is required. Basic knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. Experience with, or the ability to learn, use of an automated procurement system. Skill to prepare contractually acceptable specifications and statements of work. Skill to conduct negotiations to include pricing, purchasing, and delivery terms for purchase actions. Skill to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
