This position is assigned to the Production Service Design and Development Division, Office of Consular Systems and Technology, Bureau of Consular Affairs (CA/CST/PSDD).
The Production Service Design and Development Division is primarily responsible for application development through all life cycle phases - requirements development and management, design, software coding, testing, cybersecurity vulnerability analysis and assessment, deployment, and operations support for core business applications supporting the Passport, Visa Office, and Overseas Citizen Services directorates.
This position is eligible for telework; additional criteria will be required (e.g., supervisory approval).

Duties include the following:
Assists in conducting analyses to identify technical requirements for new and updated applications software. Assists in one or more phases of the software development process such as design, development, maintenance, configuration management, and software engineering. Assists end-users in identifying functions that could potentially benefit from new or improved applications software. Assists in the acquisition and oversight of contractually provided services essential to analyze, design, test, and implement applications that meet user requirements. Assists in monitoring contractor performance in areas such as analyzing and refining systems requirements; translating requirements into applications prototypes; designing applications; writing, debugging, and maintaining code; and writing and maintaining program documentation. Reviews deliverables for timeliness and accuracy. Assists in coordinating user acceptance testing.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions contained in 5CFR 300, Subpart F.
