Responsibilities include teaching graduate-level seminars in the core courses of Strategic Leadership, as well as electives in area(s) of specialization, research and publication, advising student research, and service to the institution. Additional duties may include curriculum development, participation in national security exercises, serving as a seminar academic advisor and on various school committees. There is time and funding available for research and travel for individual areas of expertise and professional development. A viable candidate must be able to teach in the Strategic Leadership and the Profession of Arms Course and contribute to Air War College students' ability to recognize moral dilemmas and to reinforce the traits essential to the profession of arms and understand the proper role and employment of airpower capabilities. Second, develop and offer at least one elective in the areas of moral philosophy, military ethics and/or just war theory. A viable candidate is able to advise research papers and mentor students in the areas of military ethics, just war and/or moral philosophy. Finally, a viable candidate has an established record of publishing in peer reviewed journals or has books/book chapters in these same areas. A fully qualified candidate is able to conduct coordination, planning and exchange information between senior leaders in the areas of ethics, moral philosophy and just war. An understanding of curriculum development is essential.

Tax Law Impact for PCS: On 22-Dec-2017, Public Law 115-97 - the "Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 suspended qualified moving expense deductions along with the exclusion for employer reimbursements and payments of moving expenses effective 01-Jan-2018 for tax years 2018 through 2025.
