As an IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/NETWORK), GS-2210-11, you will perform cyberspace operations that protect and defend (or assess the capability to protect and defend) information and information systems by ensuring their availability, integrity, authentication, confidentiality, and non-repudiation. Provides for mission assurance of information systems by incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities. Conducts risk and vulnerability assessments of DoD information systems to identify associated vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs. Operates in-garrison and deployed cyberspace weapon systems. Performs activities such as configuring and monitoring hardware and software for systems operation, processing and control of data flow, and client-server multi-user system support, including network management or administration. Specializes in one or more of the following tasks. Evaluates and assesses vulnerabilities of customer network and application server hardware, operating systems, and peripheral network equipment such as routers, bridges, switches, attached cabling system, network interface cards, modems, multiplexers, and concentrators. Conducts evaluations to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Evaluates effectiveness of customer network perimeter and internal defenses. Perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; Ability to plan, direct, and coordinate difficult and complex programs; Ability to develop, apply, and adjust cyber program plans to attain agency objectives; Ability to select, develop, and supervise a subordinate staff; Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, not only with subordinate staff, but with all levels of key management officials, the latter particularly requiring the exercise of tact, ingenuity, and resourcefulness; Ability to make oral and written presentations in a clear and concise manner; Ability to apply a high level of sound and independent judgment in the solution of cyber program problems and cyber mission requirements; A broad knowledge of and ability to utilize principles, methods, techniques, and systems; Ability to write proper English in reports and presentation formats; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; Skilled in training, mentoring, and problem solving; and, Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have at least 12 months of experiences as a Defense Personnel Cyberspace Operations CPT Team Member and have performed cyberspace operations that protect and defend (or assess the capability to protect and defend) information and information systems by ensuring their availability, authentication, confidentiality, integrity and non-repudiation. Experience in mission assurance of information systems by incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities. Competent in conducting risk and vulnerability assessments of DoD information systems to identify associated vulnerabilities, risks and protection needs. Experience including working with in-garrison and deployed cyberspace weapon systems. Competence in configuring and monitoring hardware and software for systems operation, processing and control of data flow, and client-server multi-user system support, including network management or administration. Experience must include two or more of the following business tasks: Evaluate and assess vulnerabilities of customer network and application server hardware, operating systems, and peripheral network equipment, such as routers, bridges, switches, attached cabling system, network interface cards, modems, multiplexers, and concentrators. Experience in searching and illuminating advanced persistent threats in DOD Cyber systems and protecting priority DOD missions for a specified duration. Skilled in performing analysis and design of automated and manual systems related to the network. Identify and provide data for intrusion detection analysis. Experience in replicating tactics, techniques, and procedures of specific cyber threats as appropriate to evaluate cyber defenses and prepare DOD defensive cyber operations; and assess postures and processes from an outside perspective. Conduct cyber key terrain analysis and mission-oriented mapping that identifies cyber dependencies in mission owner network. Skill in developing courses-of-action for risk mitigation and mission defense into written plans that integrated team capabilities. Experience including work accomplished to prepare and coordinate operators, resources, facilities and equipment schedules, in coordination with unit and flight commanders, in order to ensure training, currency, and mission timelines and objectives were met. Experience may include the assessment and evaluation of mission vulnerabilities and/or adversary activity in ICS enclaves. Experience in detecting, characterizing, and resolving insecurities in ICS networks. Experience in conducting reviews and analyzing ICS network traffic, configurations, and operating procedures and provided methods to improve system security posture. Experience in the Air Force currency and additional national-level requirements to execute US Cyber Command's Defend-the-Nation priority. Skill in presenting formal and informal briefing and written reports in regard to the Cyber program mission readiness. Competence in preparing Unit Training Assembly, Annual Training and currency training events for Mission Ready Cyberspace Operators to optimize training times. Knowledge on unit military members' go-or-no-go readiness status and skilled to recognize deficiencies. Experience including providing opportunities for assigned members to maintain full mission readiness. Experience in coordinating with the unit's maintenance section to ensure all assigned equipment is in good working condition and ready for each training and mission event. Competence in consulting with Wing supervisors, Drill Status Guardsmen, specialists, vendors, and sister Cyberspace Operations Units that result in procuring and maintaining the range devices and software that provide realistic mission networks training in order to prepare for Cyber Protection and Industrial Control System defense missions.
If you are using Education to qualify for this position, you must have high school diploma. Dependent on the education requirements for award of the position's compatible military skill (AFSC), an undergraduate degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services from an accredited college/university is desired. Completion of higher education courses in Computer Engineering; Engineering Physics/Applied Physics; Industrial Engineering; Electromechanical Engineering; Electrical, Electronics and Communications; Computer Technology/Computer Systems Technology; Cyber/Electronics Operations and Warfare; Mathematics and Computer Science; Accounting and Computer Science; Computational Science; Management Information Systems and Mathematics; or, courses in business, English composition, computer software, and keyboarding is desired. A graduate degree in Computer and Information Sciences and Support Services is optimum.
