The area of consideration for this announcement is open to the public.
Serves as a Motor Vehicle Operator with responsibility of transporting children and youth to and from school, to other CYS and Garrison facilities, and on field trips.
Ensures the safety and well-being of children, youth and adults being transported. Maintains control of and accountability for children and youth at all times. Follows safe loading and unloading procedures. Follows procedures to guarantee no child is left alone on the bus without adult supervision at any time and ensures all children have left the bus at the end of the route. Routinely inventories and maintains bus emergency and first aid supplies. Completes a comprehensive written inspection of the bus, reporting any concerns to the supervisor before transporting children/youth. Arranges for and ensures completion of routine maintenance of bus. Keeps bus clean and free of debris.

-Appointment is subject to completion of a favorable background check/investigation to determine suitability for this position.
-Commercial driver's license (CDL) with no restrictions to operate a passenger vehicle that carries 16 or more
-Satisfactory performance and successful completion of Annual training requirements
-Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
-Must be 18 years of age by date of appointment
-Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal)
-Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate
-Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, walk, bend, and stoop and stand on a routine basis
-Position requires mandatory drug testing
-Documentation of good mental and physical health and freedom from communicable disease.
-Successfully complete all required background checks to include a health screening. An annual health screening will be required throughout employment. All local background checks will be re-verified every 5 years.
-Schedule includes irregular hours, evenings, and/or weekends required
NOTE: No person, regardless of circumstance, will be approved to provide child care services and/or approved for hire in positions designate as having regular and recurring contact with children if the background check discloses that the individual has been convicted for any of the following: a sexual offense, any criminal offense involving a child victim or a felony drug offense.
