Vacancies may be filled at various grade levels (e.g. WG-5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11) based upon management need and individual qualifications. Selectees may be appointed to a position with promotion potential (e.g. selected at the WG-5 grade with potential to the WG-09). If selected below the full performance level, incumbent may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.
Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Hawaii is responsible for building and maintaining facilities through contracting, engineering, environmental, planning, and public works services to the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Department of Defense and other customers throughout Hawaii.
General duties include: installing, repairing, maintaining, and/or modifying various systems, utilities, equipment, and/or structural items.
Specific duties depend on the specific trade appointed to, and the complexity of the assignments will be comparable to the grade hired for. Entry level employees may work alongside a journeyman or work leader.
This job does not have an education qualification requirement.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
