IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
This position require military membership in the Puerto Rico Air National Guard (PRANG). If you are not a military member of the PRANG (i.e. member of the PR Army NG, civilian, active duty Airman, prior service, Airman member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the ANG Recruiting and Retention Superintendent (RRS) Office at (787) 529-2094 or (787) 529-6740 to request the PRANG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. Area 6 = Applicants who meet all requirements to become member of the Puerto Rico Air National Guard. (If the MBR certification is not submitted, your application will not be screened.)

To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position will be determined at the final evaluation of the vacancy announcement considering the military rank of the supervisor.
Duties:
As a ELECTRONIC TECHNICIAN (RADAR), GS-0856-11, you will deploy, install, integrate, operate, optimize, recover, maintain and repair various types of Theater Air Control radar systems and subsystems and provide continuous radar systems operations in support of ACS daily operations, training, and readiness missions. Incumbent is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing mission accomplishments and training requirements of the Radar Systems section.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training performing simple mechanical installations and adjustments,ability to recognize obvious malfunctions, using common hand tools demonstrates the ability to follow written instructions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicant must possess more than THIRTY SIX (36) months of specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as diagnosing problems and determining needed repairs for malfunctions in electronic equipment or systems; making mechanical repairs that required the use of precision measuring and calibrating equipment; using complex test equipment such as deviation meters, complex special test panels; interpreting technical manuals, specifications, and publications; fabricating cables and connectors to interface with various commercial and military electronic systems and sub-systems; creating and developing lesson plans; ensuring that complex air control radar systems are operating at specified technical order (TO) standards and mission requirements.
A maximum of 12 months of the required experience may be substituted by successful completion of undergraduate study in an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester hours for 12 months of experience. The education must have been in fields directly related to the type of the work of the position (i.e., management, business administration, oral communications, accounting, economics, etc.) Copy of student transcripts or training certificates must be included in order to receive credit for education. Unofficial transcripts from internet or with alterations will not be considered. To receive credit for education the information must be included in the education section of the Resume.
