Duties include, but are not limited to:
-Responsible for the creation and education of workflows for a new content management solution for the VOA workforce consisting of journalists from digital, television, and radio.
-Creates and adheres to DevOps, Agile, Lean, and user-centric approaches for the development and deployment of digital solutions.
-Tracks the health of all CMS technical assets; creating and implementing standards for technical workflows and the data governance plan, aligning digital and broadcast technologies, and ensuring the VOA digital products are operating in a secure technical environment.
-Provides expert consultation on agile development for VOA digital products and connecting mobile, social and desktop applications.
-Provides expert consultation on open source software development, DevOps, and continuous integration and continuous delivery, and cloud platform and infrastructure solutions.
-Ensures the VOA digital products are built to integrate with an API architecture in order to provide a public API library and connections to other distribution solutions through API.
-Works closely with VOA's editorial staffs, the Chief Digital Officer, and other senior staff, including bridging technology operations and VOA's editorial department needs, and studio production and technology operations.
-Supervises development team of IT Specialists; develop performance standards and rates performance, receives and resolves employee complaints, takes disciplinary measurements when needed.
