The Charles George VA Medical Center, Nursing Service, is seeking two (2) highly qualified and experienced Integrative Health Nurses to work in an Acute Care or Long-Term Care Nursing capacity.
The Integrative Health Nurse coordinates Integrative Health Components and expands the choices offered to Veterans such as mind-body interventions, biologically based therapies, manipulative and body-based therapies, and/or energy therapies which are offered in addition to clinical modalities of care. The focus of the Integrative Health Nurse is to identify interventions that foster an individual's health process, a return of the individual toward a state of wholeness in which body, mind, emotional spirit is integrated and balanced, and the person can reach deeper levels of personal understanding. The Integrative Health Nurse is accountable for defined groups of patients. Position may entail other duties as assigned and travel to units throughout the campus and to Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs).
Meets acute and continuing care components for integrative health; formulation of local integrative health policies and procedures; expansion of integrative health therapies offered to patients in addition to clinical modalities of care; coordination and co-chairmanship for the Integrative Health Committee and coordinates all other aspects of holistic care and education implemented at the facility. Develops templates required for CPRS documentation of integrative health therapies; and participates in VA sponsored integrative health conference calls and workshops.
Responsible and accountable for elements of the nursing process when providing and/or supervising direct patient care. Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care based on age-specific components. Assumes responsibility for the coordination of care.
Administers medications and procedures per established policies and guidelines. Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team.
The Acute Care Integrative RN reports to the Chief Nurse, Acute Care and Operations.
The Long-Term Care Integrative RN reports to the Chief Nurse, Geriatrics and Extended Care.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8-hour day tours (8:00 am - 4:30 pm)
