The Chief Pharmacist serves in planning, directing, controlling, and coordinating comprehensive pharmacy services at multiple sites of care. These include inpatient pharmacy services, outpatient pharmacy services at four large dispensing sites, and comprehensive clinical pharmacy activities at the Orlando VA Medical Center. The medical center is comprised of a 120-bed Community Living Center, two Residential Rehabilitation Centers (Domiciliary), the Lake Baldwin Outpatient Clinic, the Viera Outpatient Clinic, the Daytona Beach Outpatient Clinic, and community-based clinics located at: Kissimmee, Deltona, Clermont, and Tavares.
Serves as resource and staff assistant to the Associate Director, Chief of Staff, and Medical Center Director. Represents Pharmacy Service on advisory teams, boards and committees within the Medical Center, the VISN, and Department of Veterans' Affairs.
Advances clinical pharmacy practice, pharmacy and medical center research, efficient and effective drug distribution, and education to improve patient quality of life, minimize therapeutic risk and enhance clinical outcome.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm. May be required to work or travel between any of the locations within Corporate Orlando, including the Lake Nona campus. The selectee may also be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis, based on patient care needs.
