The incumbent serves as the Assistant Pension Management Center Manager (APMCM) and shares with the Chief responsibility for the administration and management of the Pension Management Center (PMC). The incumbent assists in the administration, control and direction of the Center, which has the responsibility for providing information and assistance to veterans and their dependents regarding all VA pension programs. The APMCM in collaboration with the PMC Manager provides leadership and direction to the Center and coordinates its activities with other Pension Management Centers, Regional Offices, and Divisions within the Regional Office. The Secretary of the VA has delegated authority and responsibility for making findings and decisions under the applicable laws, regulations, precedents, and instructions as to the right to benefits under all laws administered by the Department of Veteran Affairs governing the payment of monetary benefits to veterans and certain dependents. Decisions are subject to review only on appeal to the Board of Veterans' Appeals and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. Supports the principles of quality improvement and is committed to assuring timely products of highly quality are provided to the veterans and their families for all claims processed by the PMC.
