About the Position:
You will be working for the Predictive Analytics and Modeling Unit (PAMU) for the US Army Research Institute (ARI) located at Fort Belvoir, VA. PAMU explores and expands the intersection between personnel psychology, data science, and Big Data analytics. Researchers in PAMU apply new statistical approaches to Soldier testing and assessment, career and performance modeling, job analysis, and other personnel topics. Research in PAMU is strongly quantitative in nature.
Researchers are expected to develop or apply innovative data analytic approaches to address a variety of talent management challenges in the Army.
Management would prefer experience in behavioral science research (e.g., industrial/organizational psychology, psychometrics, personnel testing, cognitive psychology, or closely related behavioral research science). This includes experience with identifying and describing researchable problems in the concentration areas listed above, preparing detailed research plans and statements of work, integrating other personnel into a research team, executing research plans, and documenting research findings.
ARI's research develops innovative measures and methods to improve and enhance the Soldier lifecycle and Army talent management. ARI scientific research encompasses a wide array of topics (e.g., personnel, training, leader development, human resources, and human relations) at the individual, unit, and organizational level. ARI provides the Army the behavioral and social science expertise needed to inform human resource policies and strategies, develop fundamental theories, and investigate new domain areas in the behavioral and social sciences with high potential impact on Army issues.
