Officially established in October 2006, the Orlando VA Medical Center serves more than 105,000 Veterans in Central Florida and includes a 120-bed Community Living Center, two Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs/Domiciliaries (60-beds located at the Lake Nona Campus and 58-beds at the Lake Baldwin Campus), three large multi-specialty Satellite Outpatient Clinics in Orlando (Lake Baldwin campus), Viera and Daytona Beach, and four Community-Based Outpatient Clinics located in Clermont, Kissimmee, Orange City, and Tavares. The new medical center at Lake Nona is open for outpatient and inpatient services and will continue to expand inpatient beds, Emergency Services, and other specialty services throughout 2017. As VA's newest state-of-the-art health care facility, Orlando's 65-acre medical campus encompasses 134 acute inpatient beds, providing complex Medical/Surgical/Mental Health specialty care, advanced diagnostic services, and a large multispecialty outpatient clinic.

The Orlando VA Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to help us care for our veteran patients visiting the Orlando VA Medical Center. The LPN will be responsible for performing complex and supportive nursing and medical tasks necessary for the care of patients during visits to our CLC, Inpatient, Outpatient, and Community Based Clinics. Duties include but are not limited to gathering patient information, including clinical reminders in our computerized medical record; obtaining EKGs; medication administration; patient/family education; woundcare; assisting with surgical and/or specialized procedures; and other assigned duties. This LPN will report directly to the Nurse Manager assigned to the service to which selected.
Work Schedule: Normal work days/hours will be rotations of shifts dependent on patient care needs but will predominantly be on the day and night tour with work day/hours flexibility required as administrative and/or clinical demands require.
