This position is located in the Veterans Health Administration's (VHA) Office of the Deputy Under Secretary for Health, Operations and Management (DUSH/OM). The Incumbent serves as Program Analyst for the VHA Healthcare Operations Center.
The Incumbent provides consultative analytical support to the Office of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary, OPIA, USH, PDUSH, DUSH/OM and other VA and VHA level offices through the VHA Healthcare Operations Center. All levels of the organization use the resulting analysis and information to make key decisions that drive the organization.
The incumbent is responsible for preparing, analyzing and publishing the VA Public Wait Time Data that is distributed VA-Wide. The Incumbent also works closely with OPIA and VHA Communications to respond to media and congressional requests and responses and in support of the Secretary and Deputy Secretary's speech writers. Additionally, the incumbent is relied upon to provide data, information and insight to support the Secretary and Deputy Secretary's visits to VA Facilities across the country. Other duties include but are not limited to:
- Leads, designs and implements complex studies and analyses and performs analytical and evaluative work that identify ways to improve effectiveness and efficiency of work methods, procedures, manpower use and similar functions in support of VHA;
- Develops, monitors, and executes program milestones to support plans, processes and procedures for the organization;
- Provides support in the planning and controlling of project activities for developing schedules and identifying problems;
- Demonstrates innovative management practices and principles in resolving problems, planning future strategies and recommending courses of action; coaches and mentors others in identifying relevant data, using data to prioritize tests of change, quantify impact, and to communicate findings.
- Designs and implements data reporting systems for retrieving and displaying statistical data from VHA data bases; generating quality products and services in project planning, integration of products, program management and process analysis.

- Experience creating professional briefing materials and communicating them to Senior Headquarters Leadership
