The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Managing Editor for enterprise reporting for the Extremism Watch Desk, South and Central Asia Division. Incumbent is responsible for conceiving, editing and directing the development and production of highly-targeted, in-depth enterprise multimedia reports for use by the News Center and VOA's language services.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
~Plans and directs highly-targeted, original news coverage by Extremism Watch Desk reporters.
~Provides leadership on a multitude of on-going, complex subject matter and provides editorial guidance to reporters to shape and present stories on extremism issues.
~Has full editorial responsibility for the creation and management of all content produced by the Extremism Desk. Reviews and evaluates news sources and developments to identify items for coverage and necessary updates.
~Collaborates and coordinates with the News Center and VOA Language Division managers, producers, reporters and stakeholders to develop and deliver substantive stories that go beyond the surface of basic facts.
~Exercises full responsibility and quality control over original material on extreme digital platforms. Ensures that headlines and teasers are clear and interesting. Oversees the rewriting of all copy for distribution on a variety of platforms.
~Manages the status of story coverage and future projects; reviews, edits and gives final story approval before publication on the Extremism website and releasing to the News Center and VOA language services.
