The 404 Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MHRRTP) is a unit with 70 beds staffed 24 hours a day, to provide outpatient residential Mental Health services for Veterans with Substance Abuse, PTSD, Homelessness, Dual Diagnosis, Transitional Residency, and other Psychosocial needs. The nursing staff includes registered nurses and nursing assistants. Residents range in age from 18 to frail elderly. The nurse provides skilled nursing care that includes medical supervision, nursing care, facilitation of patient education and therapeutic programming, medication management, and specialized rehabilitation services. This nursing unit has a staff that provides care for clinically complex residents.
On a daily basis all registered nurses in this position are expected to perform the usual and customary duties of a front line nurse including but not limited to physical assessment, wound and skin assessment/care, medication administration, and general nursing management of the resident's physical and emotional well-being. The nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation is applied on an ongoing, systematic manner to all residents. Registered nurses are actively involved in providing, developing and facilitating resident education. The unit and nursing staff also support other areas within the medical center as needed and accompany residents upon transfer to other facilities if necessary.
Work Schedule: Full and part time positions available on all shifts and will vary to meet the needs of the program. Twelve (12) hour shifts days or nights, Eight (8) hour shifts nights, days or evenings. Weekends and Holidays Required.
