VA New Mexico Healthcare System is seeking a plastic reconstructive surgeon. The incumbent will be primarily responsible for coverage of the plastic surgery service and is expected to have experience in performing reconstructive procedures including breast, head & neck, abdominal wall, and soft tissue. Expertise in all microsurgical reconstruction procedures/techniques is required, and the ideal candidate will have a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQ) in hand surgery. Duties for this position will include teaching fellows, residents, and medical students. Responsibilities include managing hospitalized patients, managing all phases of plastic surgical and hand surgery interventions from pre-operative evaluation to post-operative follow-up, attend to plastics clinic, regular 24/7 on call availability and strong commitment to academic pursuits. Successful candidates must have credentials to qualify for a full- or part-time VA appointment and a faculty appointment in the Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of New Mexico School of Medicine. This position includes a faculty appointment at UNM.
