Located in the heart of the Pacific Northwest's Puget Sound region, Joint Base Lewis- McChord (JBLM) is the Defense Department's premiere military installation in the northwest and is the most requested duty station in the Army. Fort Lewis, named after Meriwether Lewis of the Lewis and Clark expedition, is one of the largest and most modern military reservations in the United States and consists of 87,000 acres of prairie land cut from the glacier-flattened Nisqually Plain.
CYS Recruitment Fair will be held at the Eagle's Pride Golf Course on May 29, 2018. Also additional job fairs will be held June 26, 2018 and July 31, 2018 at Eagle's Pride is located off Exit 116 near JBLM. The day schedule is as follows: 8-10am with accepting applications, 10am-12pm management will conduct on-the-spot interviews of qualified applicants, 12-3pm tentative job offers and fingerprinting. Please bring at least two (2) copies of your resume and at least six (6) references not related to you.

Flexible/Intermittent employees serve in a continuing position on a scheduled or as-needed basis while regular positions are scheduled with benefits. All of the JBLM CYSS programs are state-of-the-art facilities accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The centers provide full-day child care, part-day preschool, Strong Beginnings and hourly child care for youth ages six (6) weeks old to five (5) years old; or before and after school, open recreation programs, summer and vacation camps, outdoor recreation programs and field trips/tours for children ages six (6) years old to seventeen (17) years old. Serves as a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) in one or more CYS programs. Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth.
Plans, coordinates, and implements activities and special events for program participants that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs of children and youth, to include those with special requirements.
Establishes a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions with other children, youth and adults.
Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedule. Assists children and youth with special projects, homework and life skills.
Supervises children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events.
Helps arrange for/serve appropriate snacks/meals where applicable. Interacts with children and youth using approved child guidance and youth development techniques.
Interacts professionally with staff members, parents, and the Command. Observes program participants for signs that may indicate illness, abuse or neglect and reports as directed.
Ensures children and youth depart with authorized person according to written parental instruction. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
