Vacancies may be filled at various grade levels based upon management need and individual qualifications.
The salary range is specified below and will be determined by the grade level appointed to:
0020- Community Planner: $34,280-$97,918
0808- Architect: $42,965- $100,038
0810- Civil Engineer: $42,965- $100,038
0819- Environmental Engineer: $42,965- $100,038
0830- Mechanical Engineer: $42,965- $100,038
0850- Electrical Engineer: $42,965-$104,278
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 10.99% will be added to the stated salary. COLA is subject to change at any time.
Vacancies may be filled at any grade level listed. Selectees may be appointed to a position with promotion potential (e.g. selected at the GS-5 grade with potential to the GS-11). If selected below the full performance level, incumbent may be noncompetitively promoted to the next higher grade level after meeting all regulatory requirements, and upon the recommendation of management. Promotion is neither implied nor guaranteed.

Duties and responsibilities vary and increase according to grade level.
Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Hawaii is responsible for building and maintaining facilities through contracting, engineering, environmental, planning, and public works services to the Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, Department of Defense and other customers throughout Hawaii.
The duties performed will be specific to the business line and organization placed in, however, the following describes general responsibilities of the positions: Provides technical advisory and guidance involving the planning, design or maintenance of new construction, renovation, or maintenance of facilities.
Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:
GS-07: Successful completion of one full year of graduate education ~OR~ Successful completion of a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement ~OR~ A combination of education and experience as described above that equates to one year of experience.
GS-09: Successful completion of a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a field of study directly related to the position being filled ~OR~ Successful completion of 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in a field of study directly related to the position being filled ~OR~ a combination of education and experience as described above that equates to one year of specialized experience.
GS-11: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field of study directly related to the position being filled ~OR~ Successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a field of study directly related to the position being filled ~OR~ A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of specialized experience.
This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
