The Office of Inspector General (OIG) is an independent office within the Department of Agriculture whose mission is to promote excellence, integrity, and accountability throughout the USDA. The OIG conducts investigations, audits, and inspections in order to enhance effectiveness and efficiency and to prevent and detect waste, fraud, and mismanagement in USDA programs and operations.
This position is located within the Office of Audits, Regional Offices; which are responsible for: (1) audit liaison with assigned USDA agencies; (2) provision of technical guidance to Audit regions in planning and performing major program audits; (3) follow up on corrective actions; and (4) development of annual and long-range audit plans. The incumbent of the position will serve as an Auditor, providing knowledge and expertise and a wide variety of auditing functions and programs, and serving as a subject matter-expert of auditing functions, procedures, and best practices.

At the full performance level, the incumbent will perform the following duties:
CONFIDENTIAL FINANCIAL DISCLOSURE REPORT: If selected, you will be required to submit Form OGE-450 within 30 days of your initial appointment date, and annually thereafter. In addition to these requirements, the incumbent must show that they have drafted and reviewed audit documentation for technical competency and compliance with audit standards.
