This position located in the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Financial Management and Business Operations (FMBO), Acquistion Management and Procurement Operations (AMPO). AMPO is responsible for assisting headquarters and field office staff in obatining goods and services from industry and other federal agencies.
AMPO provides support to GAO internal stakeholders and external customers. The branch provides a full range of acquisitions services from aquisition planning to contract closeout.
The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Contract Specialist with responsibility for the day-to-day management of procurement operations.
The GAO is part of the Legislative Branch of the Federal government. As such, all positions are in the excepted service.

• In depth knowledge of contractual documents, required supporting documentation and contract management requirements to provide oversight during the life of a contract.
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative techniques for analyzing the effectiveness of administrative and technical programs having agency-wide impact.
