The Social Work Associate (SWA) serves as the Housing Management Assistant for the VA Boston Healthcare Systems Fisher House (FH) and Huntington House (HH) lodging programs. Of paramount importance is customer service. The SWA greets, orients, and provides customer service to patients, family members, and/or their support person. The SWA is responsible for managing the lodging programs in both off tours hours and if housing managers or specialists are not available. The SWA is responsible for off tour problems relating to the program, and ensures Fisher House & Huntington House management is informed of situations that cannot be easily resolved or that may have an impact on safety of guests or that are beyond the immediate scope of the program. The SWA is responsible for maintaining the data for both FH & HH programs. The SWA will assist in coordinating information/events with the professional staff within the program and on service administrative matters. The SWA will assist with projects assigned to FH & HH, as directed by the FH& HH manager and/or housing specialist.

Graduate Education: Major study -- social sciences. One full academic year of graduate study is qualifying for GS-7. Graduate education is not creditable for positions above the GS-7 level.
