He/she is responsible for planning, administering, and directing nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in our state-of-the art pain clinic. He/she must be poised and articulate in communicating with people of varied educational levels and varied ethnic backgrounds. The incumbent is responsible to ensure that the highest possible quality of care is achieved and that a safe therapeutic environment is provided. He/she is administratively responsible to the Nurse Manager and responsible for other team members, i.e. RN, LPN, NA.The incumbent will perform the following duties but not limited to:
· Administers medication and procedures per established policies and guidelines to include moderate sedation
· Assumes responsibility for the management of medication pump refill clinics
· Participates in the Interdisciplinary Pain Team meetings;
· Utilizes a patient-centered approach to care;
· Promotes patient centered self-determination through advocacy;
· Uses a comprehensive, holistic approach to pain management;
· Practices cultural competence, with awareness and respect for diversity;
· Facilitates informed choice, consent and decision-making;
· Promotes patient self-care management;
· Promotes the use of evidenced-based care, as available;
· Promotes optimal patient safety;
· Performs other duties as assigned with appropriate instruction and supervision;
· Assists with pain procedures to include injections and ablations under fluoroscopy
· Provides case management of pain patients and performs other duties as required by the Nurse Manager.

Annual leave shall accrue for full-time Nurses, and Nurse Anesthetists at the rate of 8 hours for each full biweekly pay period.
