As an IT Specialist, you will be performing assignments that consist of learning the scope and foundation of the information technology responsibilities and assisting fully trained IT Specialists with day-to-day operations.

MAJOR DUTIES:
Reviews customer IT usage to identify and clarify current and anticipated data requirements for routine, well-defined projects and participate in the development of technical specifications or business requirements surrounding IT needs; Identifies and resolves issues and problems, such as those relating to network configuration, systems services, or other IT matters; Provides information and assistance to customers, such as identifying and recommending training needed for customer personnel or assisting customers in accessing network services; Evaluates established methods and procedures and preparing recommendations for changes where appropriate, such as conducting technical analysis of IT requirements and capabilities to determine needed equipment changes to meet user requirements, e.g., to upgrade or enhance network component capabilities, and; Assists in competitively procuring varied conventional IT services and facilities, monitoring and evaluating contractor performance, resolving routine problems independently, and alerting higher graded employees of more complex problems.
