The Education Specialist (E.S.) located in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), at the San Diego VA Medical Center (VAMC) in the Education Service located in La Jolla, CA. The Education Specialist is responsible for all aspects of the planning, implementation, management, budget, administration and evaluation of non-trainee employee education program functions.
The E.S. is a champion for Employee Engagement and Organizational Development and is the Program Manager for the Verification of Staff and Contractor Competence program and the facility champion for the All Employee Survey. The Education Specialist will serve on various committees supporting employee education, engagement and organizational development.
Serves as the facility consultant with service line chiefs and managers to identify training needs for employee professional growth and coordinates with VA Employee Education System to develop, schedule training designed to create the skills and knowledge needed to prepare the employees ton continue the quality care for the Veterans served.
The E.S. will be the subject matter expert for All Employee Survey (AES) and responsible for facility wide mapping, marketing, processing and analyzing the results. The E.S. will prepare executive level briefs for the Medical Center Executives regarding AES results and identify trends from previous years' data. To accomplish this the employee must be skilled using data analytics software to pull data into spreadsheets, graph data and ability to transfer data into an appropriate audience level presentation.
