About the Position: This is a Term Appointment not to exceed 6 years based on workload requirements and staffing authorizations. A term appointment does not confer eligibility to be promoted or reassigned to other positions, or the ability to be non-competitively converted to a career-conditional appointment.
This position is with the California Medical Detachment, Presidio of Monterey, Incumbent will serve as the background check co-ordinator to ensure that all healthcare personnel, including civilian employees, contractors and volunteers, and any other individuals reasonably expected to have regular contact with children under the age of 18 in performance of their duties, complete initial and re-verification childcare background check requirements.
California Medical Detachment Mission : To provide quality primary health care for all Tri-service fighting forces at the Defense Language Institute and the Naval Postgraduate School, and enrolled family members; to provide accessible, safe, high-quality compassionate and customer-focused patient care; to provide preventative health care and promote healthy lifestyle through education.
Monterey is approximately 115 miles from San Francisco and 350 miles from Los Angeles. Rainfall is rare and generally is limited to the winter months.
