We are currently seeking interested qualified HR professionals for a Permanent promotion or Reassignment opportunity at VAPSHCS. The VAPSHCS is a Level 1A integrated and complex VA health service region consisting of the Seattle Division, Tacoma Division, and major Community Based Outpatient Clinics in seven locations serving the Greater Puget Sound Region including Bellevue, Bremerton, Federal Way, Mount Vernon, North Seattle, Port Angeles, and South Sound.
The incumbent supervises the staff of the Recruitment and Placement Section and HRIS/Processing section of this large, complex, health care system. He/she is responsible for interviewing and for selecting professional, technical, and clerical staff assigned to the sections. He/she is responsible for developing position descriptions for positions supervised, as well as recommending new positions, as needed, and/or changes to existing positions. The incumbent is responsible for developing and amending performance requirements for the employees of the sections. Establishes performance expectations for staff which are clearly communicated through the formal employee management system.
The Supervisory HR Specialist is responsible for the full range of recruitment and placement functions of Human Resources Management Service (HRMS) and for a wide variety of occupations including medical, professional, technical, research, clerical, trades/crafts, and non- appropriated funded positions. He/she provides managers and employees with information and interpretations of the organization's HR policies, procedures and guidelines, when the issues addressed require substantial interpretation, there is a potential for controversy or the issue involves more than one area of HR policy. The incumbent reviews recruitment and placement actions and provides advice on difficult/complex issues.
