The WOW (Ward without Walls) Nurse Manager in the Community Living Center (CLC) will evaluate staff, clinical practice, and initiate change based on current concepts and findings from research and/or evidence based studies. Duties include providing leadership in interpreting, supporting and implementing Medical Center and Nursing Department philosophy, policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and quality improvement processes; accepting responsibility and maintaining accountability for actions and continued professional and personal growth; removing roadblocks in clinical practice; communicating and working effectively with others; initiating and leading groups of personnel and interdisciplinary groups; and establishing relationships with professional and/or health related groups with the community.
The Community Living Center provides resident centered care using an interdisciplinary team approach to provide a full range of nursing care to the adult & geriatric resident. Services provided within the Community Living Center include dementia care, geriatric evaluation & management, wound care, CARF accredited acute rehabilitation, long-term antibiotic care, respite care, restorative care, skilled nursing & rehabilitation, mental health recovery & long term care. Programs supervised by the WOW Nurse Manager include the Restorative Nursing Program; Community Contract Nursing Home Program; Recreational Therapy Program; and the Minimum Data Set/ Resident Assessment Tool Program.
Work Schedule: 730-4pm with some weekend and off-tour rounding

Preferred Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) is strongly preferred.
Board certification from a VA approved certifying body.
Two (2) years of recent professional (RN) nursing experience is strongly preferred.
