The employee serves as a Housekeeping (Floor Care), in Environmental Management Service (EMS), located on the campus of the C.W. Bill Young Health Care System, Bay Pines, FL. The Housekeeping Aid (Floor Care), is assigned to one of the Environment Support Sections for (EMS).
Work Schedule: Number one shift we are recruiting is 12:00 Midnight to 8:00am, 2nd Shift 3:30pm to 11:00 pm., and other shift. We are a 24/7 Medical Center with various tours of duty and employee my be required to work off tours, nights, holidays and/or weekends to meet the mission of caring for the Veterans.

· Responsible for the direction of one of three teams, two one day shift, two evening shift, engage in scrubbing, stripping, reselling and refinishing a variety of flooring throughout the Medical Center.
· Responsible for designated buildings or areas and includes two Housekeeping Aids in addition.
· Responsible to establishing floor maintenance schedules for assigned areas according to need and overall Service Policy.
· Requisitioning and maintaining supplies used in the day to day operation.
· Maintenance of the equipment and the direction and training of two WG-3566-2 Housekeeping aid assigned to the team.
· Uses a variety of heavy equipment which includes floor scrubbers, square buffer, and battery operated scrubbers, industrial type vacuums, and shampooing machines.
· Removes old finish an sealer, stripping down to the base tile, fills stripped tile with sealer, then applies floor finish, adjust, cleans, and oils these machines and changes brushes, rollers, buffers and other attachments.
· Move heavy furniture and equipment, applies shampoo to selected carpeted areas, shampoos with rotary machine, bonnet type or hot water extraction method.
· Responsible to learn practice and support all existing safety practices relevant to this position.
· Contribute to and keep abreast of new safe practices as they are developed.· Required to perform the full range of Housekeeping duties assigned to Housekeeping Aid WG-3566-2.
Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. VA may offer newly-appointed Federal employee's credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
