The incumbent serves as the coordinator for the Surgical Service Residency and Medical School programs. This is approximately 150-160 residents per year. Serves as the Liaison to the Resident Coordinators of Wright State University, Miami Valley Hospital, Kettering College of Medical Arts, Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine and The Ohio State University for General Surgery, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Orthopedic, Oto-Rhino-Laryngology, Anesthesia, Urology and Podiatry, Externs, Physician Assistant students and Resident Physicians. Coordinates all logistical and program support aspects as they relate to residency rotations and administrative requirements for successful program implementation. Coordinates pre-assessment requirements, administrative support during rotations, and assists Attendings with Resident Supervision Program. Contacts Residents and Students prior to scheduled rotations to finalized required VA processing paperwork such as computer access, privacy training, fingerprinting and identification badge. Identifies and determine training priorities, conducts and administers training programs, develops and improves training guidance. Implements and administers the software programs and packages as it relates to resident physicians and medical students. Provides support in the areas of keys, pages, long distance pins, dictation codes, on-call rosters, business cards and other administrative paperwork. Composes correspondence and reports, prepares agenda, schedules, charts, data, contracts and training program materials. Responsible for training residents and students on the use of VISTA, CPRS, Surgical packages and other applicable software. Primary ADPAC and TMS for all surgical service medical and resident physicians. TMS for all surgical service medical and resident physicians and staff. Coordinator of audio-visual systems and conference room scheduler. Manages the Operation Room Schedule for Chief, Surgical Service.
