This is an advanced trainee position located in a FMCSA Division office. The assignments are designated to expose the trainee to a wide range of program functions and to refine program knowledge, inspection, and investigative skills to allow performance of higher level duties. At the same time, the duties provide technical support to higher grade employees conducting onsite safety and hazardous materials compliance reviews and enforcement investigations. The training process includes both classroom instruction and on-the-job training.

Excellent inter-personal skills are required. 1. Graduates who within the past 2 years, or will complete no later than December 2017, received a qualifying associates, bachelors, masters, professional, doctorate, vocational or technical degree or certificate from a qualifying educational institution.
